ECBOE approves personnel recommendations; foreign exchange student guidelines

The Escambia County (Ala.) Board of Education approved personnel recommendations during its special-called meeting May 10 at the central office in Atmore.

Approved personnel recommendations included:

Retirement

  • JoLynn Godwin, as academic interventionist at Pollard McCall Junior High School, effective May 26;
  • Stephanie Spicer, as academic interventionist at W.S. Neal High School, effective May 26;
  • Rachael Knowles, as math teacher at PMJHS, effective July 1;

Resignation

  • Rachel Wood, as art teacher at Escambia County Middle School, effective Sept. 2;
  • Madelynn Holt, as elementary teacher at ECMS, effective May 26;
  • Madison Carpenter, as elementary teacher at ECMS, effective May 26;
  • Brittany Linam, as CTE pre-engineering teacher at Flomaton High School, effective June 9;
  • Raven Ates, as elementary teacher at Rachel Patterson Elementary School, effective May 5;

Employment

  • Paige Joyner, as math teacher at W.S. Neal Middle School, effective Aug. 2;

Employment change

  • Lotoya Cooper, from federal programs/assessment supervisor at Brewton Central Office to director of career and technical education at ECBOE, effective July 1;
  • Junia Fischer, from assistant principal at WSNHS to principal at PMJHS, effective July 1; and,

Transfer

  • Casee Phillips, as math teacher from WSNHS to WSNMS, effective Aug. 2.

In other business, the board:

  • approved a revised salary schedule for academic recovery response plan for summer school; literacy and math camp; and jump start programs. The revised salary schedule is for lead teachers/site coordinators; teachers (certified); aides; nurses (RN and LPNs); bus drivers; custodians; summer food service program manager and worker; instructional student workers; and maintenance/groundskeeper student workers.
