Each Atmore Christian School senior was encouraged to keep writing their stories as they begin another chapter during graduation exercises May 26 at the school.

Family, friends and ACS staff filled the school auditorium for the occasion.

Salutatorian Abby Weber said it took a long time to get where they are today, but they made it.

“We are surround by people who taught us and inspired us,” Weber said.

Weber thanked her parents for their support; the ACS teachers; and noted that each senior is grateful to all who helped them along their high school journey.

“We accomplished so much,” she said.

Valedictorian Claire Girby said their tomorrows aren’t promised.

“It’s often a hard topic to grasp,” Girby said. “We just can’t grasp the fact we as humans have no control over what tomorrow will bring. But there is hope, and that hope is our faith in Jesus Christ.

“He knows how our story will unfold,” she said.

Girby encouraged her classmates to take charge, and react in a positive way.

She recognized and thanked her parents and other family members, including her grandparents in heaven.

ACS Teacher Tiffany Jones gave the commencement address.

Jones, who taught each senior, spoke of each and what she’ll remember about them.

“We have survived each other,” Jones quipped. “With each passing moment, I’m grateful that you made an impact on my life and others.”

Jones reminded the seniors that they will face things that will challenge them.

She challenged them to think of things, and whether may come their way, that God is with them.

Jones offered prayers for each senior.

“Keep turning to Him,” she said. “May his face shine upon you; and give you peace.”

Headmaster Justin Halteman and Kevin Kennell presented the diplomas, a prayer of blessing was done by Pastor Glenn Weber; and a slide presentation was held for each senior.
