Man was detained inside Walmart bathroom after allegedly concealing merchandise

A Flomaton man was arrested on drug and theft charges June 4, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Jonathon Rabon, 41, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and theft of property IV.

McMann said at approximately 10 a.m. on June 4, APD officers responded to Walmart in reference to a theft in progress. The officers contacted the suspect in the restroom allegedly concealing merchandise.

“The amount of the items that Rabon was attempting to conceal was over $400,” McMann said. “While searching Rabon, the officer discovered a green leafy substance in his pocket the field tested positive for spice.”

Rabon was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
