An Atmore man was injured in a singe-vehicle crash this morning at the intersection of State Road 97 and Tungoil Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to a release, the vehicle, a motorcycle, was traveling northbound on State Road 97 approximately a mile south of Tungoil Road when the driver swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway.

“Consequently, the vehicle left the roadway to the right, overturned and collided with a tree,” FHP officials said.

The motorcycle came to a final rest at the area of the collision, and the driver separated from the crash, coming to a rest approximately 60 feet north, FHP officials said.

As of the press release, which was released this morning, the driver was in critical condition at Sacred Heart Hospital.
