17 nursing graduates pinned in CACC Atmore practical nursing program

Seventeen nursing graduates were pinned in a ceremony for Coastal Alabama Community College Atmore’s practical nursing program on Aug. 5.

After opening remarks by Graduate Philana Barksdale, a student poem, “The Calling” by Edwin C. Hofert was presented by Graduate Jessica Perkins; a presentation of awards was given by nursing instructors; and the dedication of roses ceremony commenced for graduates and their families.

Victoria Sanders was named the class salutatorian; and Nicole Brear was named the valedictorian.

Kaylin Smith received the Dr. Jean Graham Spirit of Nursing Sunshine award.

Nursing Instructors Marla Jordan and Tessie Mendoza presented the pins.

Once the pinning was completed, all nurses recited the modern nightingale pledge.
