Atmore man arrested Aug. 3 on possession charges

An Atmore man was arrested on Aug. 3 on possession of drug charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Jonathan Hall, 37, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said at approximately 10:15 p.m. on the day of arrest, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Highway 21 in reference to the vehicle displaying an expired license plate.

“During the officers interaction with the driver, Jonathan Hall age 37 of Atmore, the officer was given consent to search the vehicle,” McMann said. “The officers discovered a small amount of a crystal-like substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine, and methamphetamine residue in items commonly used to ingest narcotics.”

Hall was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
