A Century, Fla. man was arrested Aug. 2 on possession of drug and attempting to elude charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Brandon Jackson, 38, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude a police officer.
McMann said at approximately 2:30 p.m. on the day of arrest, APD narcotics investigators identified a person of interest during a narcotics investigation.
“An undercover agent contacted Jackson to arrange for the purchase of narcotics,” McMann said. “The agent and Jackson agreed to meet in Flomaton.”
McMann said Jackson then fled from the meeting when the agents exited the vehicle wearing law enforcement marked tactical vests.
“After a brief foot pursuit, Jackson was taken into custody,” he said. “Jackson was in possession of over 5 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale.”
Jackson was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
