Atmore man arrested, charged with exploitation of elderly

An Atmore man was arrested on financial exploitation of the elderly charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Scott Peck, 58, was charged with financial exploitation of the elderly.

McMann said on April 8, a caseworker with the Alabama Department of Human Resources contacted the APD in reference to the exploitation of an elderly person.

“The investigator assigned to the case examined financial records with the DHR caseworker and the Escambia County District Attorney (Steve Billy),” McMann said.

Peck was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton on August 8, 2024.
