An Atmore woman was arrested Aug. 29 on driving under the influence and drug charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Cenkrystal Roberts, 40, was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
McMann said at approximately 1:50 a.m. on the day of arrest, an APD officer observed a vehicle on Woods Road driving at a slow speed, crossing over into the oncoming lane of traffic. The officer then conducted a traffic stop, and contacted the driver, Roberts.
“During the officer’s interaction with Roberts, the officer noticed that Roberts was speaking incoherently and was unable to retrieve any of the documentation the officer asked for,” McMann said. “The officer requested Roberts to perform several field sobriety tests, but she was unable to perform the tests.”
During a probable cause search of the vehicle, the officer discovered a small amount of synthetic cannabis (spice), McMann added.
Roberts was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
