A Tuscaloosa man was arrested Sept. 10 on attempting to elude charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Corderius Green, 21, was arrested and charged with attempting to elude a police officer.
McMann said the arrest occurred at approximately 12:25 a.m. after an APD officer observed a vehicle on Wilson Avenue driving at a high rate of speed in the middle of the street.
McMann said the officer then activated his emergency blue lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop.
“The driver, later identified as Corderius Green, 21, of Tuscaloosa, accelerated to over 20 miles per hour over the posted speed limit and refused to stop,” he said. “After a brief pursuit, Green lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a ditch on Swift Street. Green was transported to the Atmore Community Hospital to be assessed for injuries. He was released shortly thereafter.”
Green was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
Additionally, Green has an active warrant through the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
