T.R. Miller defeated Flomaton 56-7 in Class 3A, Region 1 action Friday night in Hurricane Territory.
Myles Johnson scored four touchdowns in the first half on runs from 1, 54, 3 and 94 yards to lead the Tigers.
TRM led 49-0 at halftime.
“I thought they came out and played really hard,” TRM head football coach Brent Hubbert said. “They played with a lot of focus. When you play a team like Flomaton, you know you’re in for a fight. They do things a bit different as far as offense wise. We haven’t seen that.”
Hubbert added that he thought the kids handled everything well, and they were able to come out and do what they were asked to do.
Hubbert said his defensive line played real well tonight.
With the victory, the top-ranked Tigers improve to 4-0 overall, and 2-0 in Class 3A, Region 1. TRM hosts Hillcrest-Evergreen next week in region play.
Flomaton head football coach Doug Vickery said TRM’s a force to reckon with in Class 3A.
“They have a good shot of going deep in the playoffs,” Vickery said. “Hats off to them. They’re really well coached, and have a bunch of good players.”
Vickery said a few players went down with injury, but should be back up and healthy in a few weeks.
Vickery added that all one can do is go back to the drawing board, and keep working hard.
Flomaton visits Bayside Academy next week.
