Lady Rams finish 1-2 in last three matches

Atmore Christian School’s varsity volleyball team finished 1-2 in its last three matches.
The Lady Rams fell 13-25, 25-20, 11-25, 25-23, 6-15 to Christian Collegiate (CCA) on Sept. 16; fell 22-25, 20-25, 18-25 to South Baldwin Christian (SBCA) on Sept. 13; and beat Central 25-14, 25-13, 25-12 on the road on Sept. 12.
ACS 3, Central 0
Ava Smoker went 21-for-22 in serving with five aces; Jenna Kennell had eight aces; and Kendall Harper and Lizzy Landis had five kills each.
In junior varsity action, the Lady Rams lost 17-25, 25-23, 12-15.
SBCA 3, ACS 0
Volleyball coach Sheila Copenhaver said due to an injury, the Lady Rams were without their varsity setter, however.
“Our JV setter did an excellent job stepping up, but in the end, we lost because of our missed serves,” she said.
Copenhaver said the girls had 17 missed serves for the match.
Smoker went 9-for-9 in serving; Landis had seven kills, four aces and seven digs.
In JV action, the Lady Rams fell 15-25, 23-25.
CCA 3, ACS 2
Kayslyn Speer went 16-for-18 in serving; Harper had five aces and seven digs; and Landis had seven kills and three blocks.
In JV action, ACS won 26-24, 25-20.
