Beautiful weather and steady crowds highlighted the 20th annual Taste of the South Event Sept. 19 at Heritage Park.

The event is held for local residents, businesses and organizations to share their best cuisine.

Winners of the taste event were selected in five categories from the tasters, or participants. The categories include Best Drink, Best Commercial, Best Dessert, Best Amateur and Best Decorated Booth.

The winners by category included:

• Best Drink – Sunny Dayz

• Best Dessert – Circle E Building

• Best Commercial – David’s Catfish House Atmore

• Best Amateur – First National Bank and Trust

• Best Decorated Booth – Hughes Pest Control
