Additionally, Brooks gave the council an update on the potential tropical cyclone near the Gulf of Mexico.
Brooks said normally, a meeting will be held 72 hours prior to landfall, and since the last storm, the city is prepared for what may come its way.
Brooks said all equipment is accounted for, and personnel will be on standby. He added that fuel trucks and equipment will be fueled up and ready.
Sand bags can be picked up at the fire department, and can be filled at the farmer’s market. Brooks added that only 10 bags are allowed per family.
Brooks said they’ll continue to monitor the storm as it develops, and a shelter location will be announced as the storm makes its way closer.
