Flomaton defeated Cottage Hill 21-0 tonight on senior night at home.

The Hurricanes outscored the Warriors 14-0 in the second half during the victory.

FHS head football coach Doug Vickery said the team felt as if it should’ve scored on one of the first-half drives, but penalties crept up in the game.

“I thought we did a good job,” Vickery said. “Defensively, we played really well. I thought we were the more physical football team. I’m just proud of my guys. We needed that.”

Leading 7-0 at halftime, the Hurricanes scored on their first drive of the third quarter.

Zay French scooted in from 1 yard out with 7:51 left in the third, and the point after attempt was successful from Brayden Phillips to make it at 14-0 game.

Later in the half, quarterback Harper Harrison converted a 63-yard pass to Tishun Baldwin for a touchdown with 7:06 left. Phillips nailed the PAT and made it a 21-0 game.

Some 5 minutes left, Flomaton’s Tucker Lambeth was ejected from the game after a minor scuffle on the Hurricane sideline.

Vickery said the Warriors allegedly body-slammed a Flomaton player, and Lambeth got ejected in retaliation.

Vickery said a fine will have to be paid, and Lambeth won’t lose any playing time next week when the Hurricanes visit Northview, Fla. to close out the regular season.
