The Atmore Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning on Brooks Lane.

Chief Chuck Brooks said in a release that at approximately 7:54 a.m., the APD received a phone call from a female stating her brother had been shot on Brooks Lane.

Brooks said Atmore police and medics were dispatched to the location.

“On arrival, officers discovered a male victim with two gunshot wounds to the lower body,” Brooks said. “The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to a medical facility. Atmore police believe the suspect(s) fired from a moving vehicle due to the shell casings found in the roadway.”
