City adopts resolution to vacate streets on property next to RPES

The Atmore City Council adopted a resolution Tuesday vacating streets on a property on the south side of Craig Street across from Rachel Patterson Elementary School.
City Code Enforcement Officer Greg Vaughn said by vacating the streets, the council declared the streets belong to the present or future owner.
“They erased the roads on the property as it relates to the tax map,” Vaughn said.
Vaughn said the property sits on the left side of Craig Street, and is about three parcels.
In other business, the city:
- approved a Powerhouse Youth Ministries event at Boxcar Willie.
