Dr. Rodney Scott Owens, 71, of Atmore, passed away on Nov. 3, 2024 at his residence.

Dr. Owens was born on June 30, 1953 in Texas to Tolbert and Bessie Marie Richerson Owens.

He was a graduate of Escambia County High School and later graduated in 1992 from the Doctor of Chiropractic Program at Life University in Marietta, Ga.

Owens was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and the former mayor of the City of Atmore.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father.

Owens is survived by his wife, Donna Morris Owens; his sons, Johnathan (Angelique) of Atmore and Jason (Melissa) of Birmingham; his sister, Marilyn Davidson of Atmore; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held this Sat., Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church.

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, please make a donation to Pilots for Christ, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation.”
