An Atmore man was arrested on drug charges, and another on a felony assault warrant Nov. 4, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Sheriff’s Office, and charged with fugitive from justice and will await extradition to Escambia County, Fla.

McMann said at approximately 6:50 p.m. on the day of arrest, an APD officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Harris Street in reference to a traffic violation.

McNeil, later identified as the driver, allegedly refused to stop the vehicle until officers blocked the road, McMann said.

“After detaining McNeil and the passenger, Ladale Pettway, age 25, of Atmore, officers discovered over a dozen (12) grams of marijuana, percocet pills and a digital scale,” McMann said.

Both were then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
