Gordon’s Giving will be held on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at St. Robert’s Bellarmine Catholic Church’s Boland Hall.

The annual meal is held in memory of Gordon Nichols, who passed away in a wreck in November 2019.

Gordon’s mother, Melissa, said they’ll feed first responders, hospital, nursing home and both assisted living facilities, along with LifeFlight, in memory of her son.

“After all, the first responders were there for us before we knew we needed them,” she said. “We love giving back to a town that we love so much. By doing so, we keep Gordon’s loving memory and giving spirit alive. We truly live with the love left behind.”

Melissa said those who are going to be alone on Thanksgiving or if anyone knows anyone or any family that needs a meal for the holiday to let them know or they can come by Boland Hall. The church is located at 600 S. Main St., Atmore, AL 36502.

“If you know anyone who will be along, come join us,” she said.

Melissa said last year, they fed 200.

“We do both shifts for the responders, hospital and nursing home,” she added. “Or for anyone who asks.”

The meal will be served at Boland Hall at 12:30 p.m.
