Atmore man arrested Nov. 22 on possession of drug charges

An Atmore man was arrested Nov. 22 on possession of drug charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that David Boyd III, 45, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said an APD officer contacted Boyd on West Nashville Avenue in reference to an outstanding misdemeanor warrant with the department. The officer made contact at approximately 9:15 p.m.

“After detaining Boyd, the officer searched Boyd during the incident to arrest and discovered a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue on Boyd’s person,” McMann said.

Boyd was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
