UPDATE: Due to inclement weather and scheduling, this year’s Santa on a Fire Truck event has been canceled, Chief Ronald Peebles said Monday.

Santa Claus will be making his way through the city of Atmore during the annual Santa on a Fire Truck event, which will be held Dec. 9-10 and 12-13.

Fire Chief Ronald Peebles said Santa will hit each quadrant of the city during the event. Highways 21 and 31 divide the quadrants.

Peebles said Santa will be in the northeast quadrant on Dec. 9; the northwest quadrant on Dec. 10; the southeast quadrant on Dec. 12; and the southwest quadrant on Dec. 13.

Peebles said no candy will be thrown as it’ll be Claus waving and greet kids from the fire truck.

Peebles said the event will last from 5-8 each night.
