Cantonment, Fla. woman arrested Nov. 29 on drug, theft charges

A Cantonment, Fla. woman was arrested Nov. 29 on drug and theft charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Ryan Godwin, 37, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana II, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of property IV.

McMann said at approximately 8:50 a.m. on the day of the arrest, APD officers responded to Walmart in reference to loss prevention observing a female allegedly switching price tags. He added that Godwin was stopped by loss prevention as she was leaving the store.

“The officers were informed that someone in the parking lot in a vehicle was possibly waiting for Godwin,” McMann said. “The officers observed narcotics in plain view in the vehicle, and conducted a probable cause search. The officers discovered a small amount of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, a small amount of methamphetamine, a baggie of THC gummies and items used to ingest narcotics.”

Godwin was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
