A cold weather advisory will be in effect for Atmore from midnight tonight to 8 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
According to the NWS, cold wind chills as low as 15 are expected in portions of south central and southwest Alabama, northwest Florida and southeast Mississippi.
Wind chills below 25 degrees can be hazardous with long exposure to humans and animals.
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
