An Atmore man was arrested Dec. 12 on possession of drug charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Latoric Barron, 37, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana I due to having previous convictions for marijuana offenses.
McMann said at approximately 8:35 a.m. on Thursday, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Northgate Drive in reference to an improper lane usage violation. The officer then contacted the driver, Barron.
“While speaking with Barron, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle,” McMann said. “The officer requested Barron exit the vehicle to conduct a probable cause search. The officer discovered a small amount of marijuana and multiple burned marijuana blunts.”
Barron was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.
