Three area high school students were chosen as DAR Good Citizens for 2024-25, according to the Fort Mims Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
The DAR Good Citizens for 2024-25 are Ana Chesley Robinson of Escambia Academy; Ariyana Gabrielle Young of Escambia County High School; and Halea Johannah Martin of Flomaton High School.
The students were selected from the senior class of each school based on qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism, according to a release.
The DAR Good Citizens were eligible to participate in the National DAR Scholarship Contest, which included background information in school and community and an essay, according to a release.
Two of the good citizens participated in the scholarship competition, and one chapter winner’s package could be selected to advance to district to compete with entries from Baldwin and Mobile counties.
The district winner will then advance to the state competition, and the state winner goes on to the national competition.
Robinson was selected as the winner of the Fort Mims Chapter NSDAR.
