Douglas Allen Bowen, 65, of Nokomis, Fla., passed away peacefully on Dec. 9, 2024 in Pensacola, Fla. surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on February 17, 1959 to James and Gloria Byrd Bowen.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Shanna Bowen.
Douglas is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Anne Krise Bowen; his sons, Nick (Beth) Bowen of Cantonment, Fla. and Bjay Ditto of Nokomis; his daughters, Winter Graham (John Levins) of Cantonment, Justina (D.J.) Espejo of Cantonment and Missy (Erik) Stein of Connecticut; his brothers, Richard (Christy) Bowen and Robbie (Lisa) Bowen; his grandchildren, Amber, Trevor, Landon, Makayla, Lexi, Sophia, Dalton, Brooklynn, Easton, Christian, Scottie, Sydney, James, Gracie, Breanna, Miah and Lana; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and his special friends he thought of as his brothers, Ricky Golson, Grady Hart and Greg McKinley.
A memorial service was held on Dec. 13, 2024 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor J.B. Shoumaker officiating.
Flowers will be accepted but donations can be made to American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.
Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
