FHP seeking info on fatal crash in JC Penney parking lot Dec. 21

The Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Investigations is seeking information and witnesses in regard to a fatal crash that occurred in Pensacola, Fla. on Dec. 21.

Capt. Jason King said in a release that a victim was located in the north parking lot of 7171 N. Davis Hwy. (JC Penney).

“The victim, a homeless man, was located by law enforcement gravely injured at 4:38 a.m. in the parking lot where semi-trucks and commercial vehicles park,” King said. “The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim sustained injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. No evidence was located on scene that identified a suspect.”
King said FHP traffic homicide investigators are seeking any witnesses with information regarding the incident that may have seen the incident or can identify any of the trucks that were parked there prior to the incident.

King said the investigators believe the incident occurred between 2 and 4:30 a.m. on the morning of Dec. 21.
