Atmore man, juvenile arrested Dec. 27 on possession of firearm charges

An Atmore man and a juvenile were arrested Dec. 27 on possession of a firearm charges, among others, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Tramireus King, 19, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property II, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, minor in possession of tobacco and tampering with physical evidence.

McMann said the 16-year-old juvenile was also in possession of a firearm.

McMann said at approximately 11:55 p.m. Friday, an APD officer on routine patrol encountered two people walking in the middle of Liberty Street. The officer then stopped to speak with the people, and during the interaction with King, a stolen firearm reported through another jurisdiction was recovered from his clothing.

King was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

McMann said the Escambia County Juvenile Probation was contacted in reference to the 16 year old who will be facing criminal charges through the Juvenile Court system.
