An Evergreen man was arrested Dec. 31 on possession of drug and attempting to elude charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Terrance Henry, 46, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude a police officer.
McMann said at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Tuesday, APD officers responded to the area of McRae Apartments in reference to a report of a male exposing his genitals.
“The caller provided dispatchers with a description, and the responding officers were able to contact him,” McMann said, adding that Henry was the match of the description.
McMann said during the officer’s interaction with Henry, the officer discovered that Henry had outstanding arrest warrants through another agency.
“Henry began running away, but was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit,” he said. “The officer searched Henry incident to arrest, and discovered over 5 grams of synthetic cannabis (spice), over 10 grams of ecstasy, a small amount of cocaine and items used to package narcotics.
Henry was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
