A man and two women were arrested Jan. 1 on firearm and drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Jeremy Bridges, 25, of Woodruff, S.C. was arrested and charged with certain persons forbidden to possess firearms; Hanna Moye, 25, of Atmore, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana I and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Heather Cross, 47, of Perdido, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McMann said at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, APD officers responded to Southland Motel in reference to a domestic disturbance.
McMann said one of the officers made contact with Bridges.
“The officer noticed a handgun in Bridges’ waistband and disarmed him,” he said. “The officer learned after checking Bridges identification that Bridges is a person forbidden to possess firearms due to felony convictions in South Carolina.”
McMann said other officers then attempted to contact two people in the room who briefly opened the door.
“The officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the room and made entry,” he said. “Inside the room were Hanna Moye, age 25, of Atmore and Heather Cross, age 47, of Perdido.”
McMann said upon entering the room, the officers observed narcotics in plain view. Officers discovered various amounts of gabepentin, cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, prescription medication, marijuana and items used to ingest narcotics.
All three were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
