Judi Lynn McElhaney, 75, of Bratt, Fla., passed away on Jan. 1, 2025 in Pensacola, Fla.

She was born on November 23, 1949 in Atmore to Buford “Bob” and Mildred Gibson Howell.

Judi is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Jimmy Howell, Dawn Howell Davis, Phyllis Howell Miller and Ronald Howell; and her grandson, Josiah Paul McElhaney.

Judi is survived by her husband, James C. McElhaney Jr.; her son, Joshua McElhaney of Bratt; her daughters, Candice McElhaney Dawe of Spanish Fort and Stephanie McElhaney Penn of Granite City, Ill.; her grandchildren, Claire, Lily, Jabe, James, Libby, Lucy, Landry, Jesse, Marlee and Maevree; along with numerous family and friends.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 4, 2025 at Grace Fellowship Church in Atmore with the Rev. Corey Penn, Pastor Gene King and Pastor Glenn Weber officiating. Interment followed in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery in Bratt.

Active pallbearers were Jabe Dawe, James McElhaney, Jesse McElhaney, Ronny Miller, Trevor Knighten, Chris McElhaney, Denver Schrock and Jake Penner.

Honorary pallbearers were Roy Ward, David Johnson, Ronnie Stabler, Calvin Schrock, Jim Weber, Curvin Hursh, Lester Huber and James Helton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Fellowship Church.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
