Escambia Academy’s boys basketball team moved up three spots in the Alabama Sports Writers Association AISA poll, which was released today.
The Cougars improved to 14-2 after defeating South Choctaw, MEMA, Oak Park and Sparta Academy over the Christmas and New Year’s holiday.
This is the first poll since Dec. 19.
EA moved up to No. 4, behind Evangel Montgomery at No. 3, Hooper at No. 2 and Valiant Cross at No. 1.
Escambia County (8-5) was nominated, but not ranked in the Class 4A poll.
In the girls poll, T.R. Miller is now No. 10 in Class 3A after improving to 12-1 on the season.
The Lady Tigers beat Central, Fla., Thomasville (forfeit), Elba, Pike Road, Pike Lib, lost to Daphne, and beat Monroe County and Hillcrest-Evergreen.
