Atmore woman arrested Jan. 14 on burglary, robbery charges

An Atmore woman was arrested Jan. 14 on burglary and robbery charges, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Keria Brown, 30, was arrested on warrants for burglary III, robbery III, theft of property III, assault III and harassment.

McMann said on Dec. 28, 2024, at approximately 5:50 p.m., APD officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Ashley Street in reference to an assault. Officers made contact with the victim, who had visible facial injuries.

“The victim stated she was in the middle of her hair and makeup appointment when Keria Brown, age 30, of Atmore, came in and began challenging her,” McMann said. “Brown began striking the victim in the face with an object in her hand, and took the victim’s expensive hair piece and then fled the scene.”

McMann said an investigator obtained the arrest warrants for Brown.

Brown was taken into custody Jan. 14 and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
