ECSS officials announce school closures for Jan. 21-22 due to weather

Escambia County, Ala. School System officials today announced the closure of schools Jan. 21-22 due to the anticipated snow and winter weather conditions.
All schools will also be closed Mon., Jan. 20 for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.
In addition to school closures, all sports practices, games and extracurricular activites scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday are canceled.
“The safety of our students, staff and bus transportation is our top priority,” ECSS officials said on their Facebook page. “Based on the latest forecasts and potential hazards, we believe this is the best course of action to ensure everyone’s well being.”
ECSS officials said they’ll continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary regarding any further changes to school operating schedules.
Coastal Alabama Community College officials announced today that all campuses will be closed Jan. 21-22 due to the weather.
Additionally, the Escambia County Public Schools (Fla.) announced school will be closed Jan. 21 due to the weather.
