Atmore woman arrested Jan. 18 on active probation violation arrest warrant

An Atmore woman was arrested Jan. 18 on an active probation violation arrest warrant through the Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Sherry Rudolph, 36, was arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice, and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton awaiting extraction back to Escambia County, Fla.

McMann said at approximately 12:45 p.m. on the day of the arrest, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Brown Street in reference to observing a moving violation. The officer later contacted Rudolph, who was the driver.

“Upon checking the status of Rudolph’s driver license, the officer was notified that Rudolph had an active probation violation arrest warrant through the Escambia County, Fla. Sheriff’s Office in reference to a previous fraud charge,” McMann said.
