South Carolina man arrested Jan. 23 on possession charges

A South Carolina man was arrested on Jan. 23 on possession of drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.

Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Byron Fisk, 54, of Pendleton, S.C., was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McMann said at approximately 5:55 a.m. on Thursday, APD officers responded to the Express Mart on North Main Street in reference to a male asleep at the gas pumps for several hours. Responding officers contacted the male, later identified as Fisk.

“During the officer’s interaction with Fisk, they noted he appeared to be under the influence and requested consent to search the vehicle,” McMann said. “During the search of the vehicle, the officers discovered over 2 dozen grams of synthetic cannabis (spice) and items used to ingest narcotics.”

Fisk was then transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
