Atmore man arrested on warrant for receiving stolen property

An Atmore man was arrested Jan. 29 on a warrant for receiving stolen property, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Phillip Weaver, 42, was arrested on a warrant for receiving stolen property I.

McMann said on Jan. 9, an APD investigator was contacted by an investigator with the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office.

“The investigator was informed that a vehicle was stolen from a residence in Baldwin County and towed to a scrap yard in Atmore,” McMann said. “The APD investigator went to the scrap yard and found the stolen vehicle. The investigator was provided a copy of the receipt of the transaction, which included a copy of the identification of the suspect.”

Weaver was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
