Two Atmore men were arrested recently on assault charges, according to officials.
Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Kennedy Crook, 44, was arrested on Jan. 13; and Anthony Armstrong, 59, was arrested on Feb. 3. Both are being charged with assault II.
McMann said on Jan. 9 at approximately 8:45 p.m., APD officers responded to Atmore Village Apartments in reference to an assault.
“The officers contacted the victim who suffered multiple broken ribs and other injuries,” McMann said.
McMann said Crook was identified as one of the individuals who were responsible.
“An investigator obtained an arrest warrant for Crook for assault II,” he said.
McMann said the victim also identified Armstrong as the other person who assaulted him. The investigator obtained an arrest warrant for Armstrong for assault II, he said.
Both were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
