A Bay Minette man was arrested Feb. 5 on receiving stolen property and attempting to elude charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Jared Parker, 27, was charged with receiving stolen property I, attempting to elude a police officer and open container of alcohol.
McMann said on the day of the arrest at approximately 9:30 p.m., an APD officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 21 after observing the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel.
“The officer activated his emergency blue lights and siren, but the driver refused to stop and accelerated at a high rate of speed,” McMann said. “After a brief pursuit, the vehicle stopped and the officer contacted the driver (Parker).
“After taking Parker into custody, the officer was informed the vehicle was stolen from Baldwin County,” he said.
Parker was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
