Flomaton beat Escambia County 17-1 in its season opener at home on Thursday night.

The Hurricanes scored six runs in the first inning, four runs in the second, three runs in the third and four runs in the fourth.

Chaz Odom earned the win for FHS on the mound. He allowed one hit and no runs over 2.1 innings and struck out five while walking none.

Ross Bell led Flomaton with three RBIs; Riley Harrison walked three times and stole a base; and Seth Hammonds stole one base.

Jamarion Robinson and Javon Brown had one hit each for Escambia County.

In other area action, Northview lost 11-5 to Milton, Fla.; and W.S. Neal beat J.U. Blacksher 6-4.
