The Escambia County School Board voted to complete purchases that will upgrade technical equipment and student comfort at schools in the county.
During a regular meeting of the board last Thursday, approval was given for the purchase of $28,646 in technical equipment for the Escambia Career Readiness Center.
The purchase amount will cover the cost of 35 non-touch monitor bundles for student use.
Superintendent Dr. Michele Collier said the funds, paid out of Perkins, are available thanks to a Career Tech grant from the state. The new monitors will replace outdated units in the school’s lab.
The board also agreed to a contract price of nearly $17,000 for work at Flomaton Middle School.
Bud’s Refrigeration Service will handle the installation of 46 new supply outlets and 14 new returns at the school. The cost of $16,723 will be paid out of FY24 AandT Funds.
