A Daytona Beach, Fla. woman was arrested Feb. 23 on possession of drug charges, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Amy Nelson, 48, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
McMann said at approximately 12:55 a.m. on Sunday, an APD officer conducted a traffic stop on Howard Street in reference to an equipment violation. The officer then contacted the driver, Nelson.
“During the officer’s interaction with Nelson he noted suspicious behavior and requested consent to search the vehicle,” McMann said. “A search of the vehicle revealed numerous loose amphetamine/dextroamphetamine pills.”
