Malcolm Barry McCord Jr., a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away at his home on Feb. 24, 2025 surrounded by loving family members.

Barry is preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Sr.; and his daughter, Christina McClure.

Barry leaves behind his loving wife, Susan H. McCord; his five children, Jaynae McCord Nichols, Mark (Dayna) McCord, Glenda Burkett Ardis, Phillip (Miranda) Burkett and Shannon Burkett; 13 adoring grandchildren, Dustin (Brittany), Cheyenne (Mavis), Christian, Dallas (Makayla), Ricky, Kayleigh, Cameron, Sonny, Madison, Carter, Parker and Malcolm; three cherished great-grandchildren, Clayton, Ava and Zoe; along with his mother, Audrey McCord; three brothers, Max McCord, Roland (Elicia) McCord and Alvin (Cindy) McCord; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate and honor the life of Barry will be held on Sat., March 15, 2025 at noon at the First Baptist Church of Atmore with Dr. Kevin Garrett officiating.

Although he will be deeply missed, he will be forever remembered and cherished by his family and friends.
