It is never too early or too late to invest in and develop one’s ability, to gain a multitude of attributes to better one’s skills and future, a lesson Bratt Elementary School fifth grader Jace Bell could teach everyone.
Despite not yet being in his teens, Bell has taken the steps to better himself and his community through continuous determination toward higher learning and commitment toward his studies, all the while still finding the time to enjoy his personal interests.
Bell credits the brunt of his resolve to be the best in all his endeavors to his dad, Brian Bell.
“He taught me to be well rounded,” Bell said. “He teaches me and my siblings what’s right and wrong, and how to be a good person towards others.”
Whether it be his academic or athletic pursuits, Bell does it all with a high level of curiosity and enthusiasm that is evident in all his actions, much of it attributed to his reading habits.
“His love for reading has broadened his horizons and fueled his imagination,” said a Bratt Elementary School teacher.
With Bell also being part of his school’s Sunshine Math Team, Battle of the Books Team and
Science Olympiad Team, he has covered many bases in terms of subjects – leading to accolades for his hard work such as all A honor roll, a Citizenship Award and the Leader of the Month award.
Beyond Bell’s literary journey, he spends much of his time with more physical endeavors such as baseball where plays middle infield with hopes to develop his pitching skills, or his training in Brazilian jiu jitsu, where he recently earned his gray belt with hopes to get even better.
Bell makes it clear that despite all his other ventures, his heart is still in focusing on education, particularly in math, as he believes it will help him face what challenges may come.
Of course, Bell’s life doesn’t revolve solely around academic and athletic interests as he has a couple of hobbies that bring him enjoyment, such as playing video games, caring for his two pet turtles, Marco and Polo, and most recently deer hunting.
Bell is proof that age is rarely a factor in the good you can achieve for yourself and those around you, success and achievement are for everyone.
