Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Story By Christa Burns

Not many children would eagerly list reading, writing and community service as their favorite pastimes. But Alivia Hunter is not your average student. She is a bright light in this world full of endless possibilities.
Nestled in the heart of Atmore, Hunter attends Escambia County Middle School. She is the beloved daughter of Amanda and Quinterio Hunter, two devoted parents who work tirelessly to ensure that their daughter has the experiences every child deserves. Her parents make the necessary sacrifices to ensure that Hunter has not only the necessities of life but also consistent encouragement to reach for the stars.
From an early age, Hunter has had a passion for outreach and community service. In her earlier years, she participated in Girl Scouts and is now an active member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Whether she is lending a helping hand at community events or engaging in acts of kindness that leave a lasting impact, she finds joy in giving back.
When she is not volunteering in her community, Hunter escapes into captivating pages of exciting stories, plays video games that take her into alternate realeties and listens to music on her vinyl player, the melody wrapping her like a comforting embrace. These hobbies allow her to escape the stress of school and dive into a creative space. But Hunter creativity isn’t confined to the stories she reads or the music that fills her room—it spills onto the blank pages she transforms with her words. Writing is more than a school subject to her; it is a portal into her imagination.
However, creativity is not the only thing in which she excels. As she looks toward her future, Hunter has a desire to go to college and be an engineering major and work specifically in software engineering. Software engineering can take her on a path where she can blend problem solving and innovation.
When asked who her hero was, Hunter could have answered with a comic book superhero or her favorite sports player. Instead, she replied with an answer that any parent would love to hear from their child: “My parents, they work hard to make sure I have a great life,” said Hunter.
She owes her career aspirations to her parents. “I will be able to have a career in software engineering because of all the things I have learned from them,” she said.
Hunter is far more than just a middle school student. She has a compassionate heart, a boundless imagination, and a vision that extends beyond the present. With her drive, she is destined to leave her mark, not just in her community, but in the ever changing world of technology. The road ahead is illuminated with opportunities and with every step, she is shaping a future where her dreams are no longer just aspirations, but realities waiting to unfold.
