David Dobson announced his intention to run for the District 4 seat of the Atmore City Council on Wednesday.

Dobson is married to Melanie; and is the son of Tyra Livingston and Matthew Dobson.

Dobson graduated from the University of South Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a minor in business.

At present, he’s obtaining his master’s degree in clinical psychology.

He’s worked in the family business at Southern Real Estate since 2017.

Dobson is serving on civic boards, and is the past president for the Atmore Rotary Club and the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Main Street Atmore board.

“I think my current business as a real estate broker has assisted me with knowledge of the area, and my civic duties will assist in serving in that capacity,” Dobson said. “I want to be someone who listens to the citizens of Atmore. I want the citizens to bring me their needs, and I’ll do my best to achieve them.

“Atmore has all the potential in the world,” he said.
