Mrs. Dorothy Jean Kennedy, 74, passed away on March 4, 2025, in Mobile.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy (Julia Estelle Day) Stewart; brother, James Stewart; and special sister, Frances Harrelson.
She is survived by her loving husband on 55 years, James Kennedy of Atmore; daughters, Janice (Jason) Parham of Atmore, Shannon (Shaw) Evans of Canoe and Tracie Kennedy of McDavid, Fla.; sisters, Marilyn Sanders of Pensacola, Fla., Judy (Thomas) Jensen of Pace, Fla. and Julia (Brad) Layman of Killen; six grandchildren, Chelsea (Justin) Huggins, Kade Parham, Jordan Parham Blakely Shaw, Brynlie Shaw and Eli Evans; two great-grandchildren, Rogan Huggins and Rickie-Lynn Rose Huggins; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Sat., March 8, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC with Bro. Joe Eddie Macks officiating.
Visitation will be held on Fri., March 7, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC.
Pallbearers will be Jason Parham, Shaw Evans, Kade Parham, Eli Evans, Max Odom and Matthew Brook.
Honorary pallbearer will be Brad Shaw.
Burial will follow at Christian Home Cemetery.
