St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church will be serving fish fry plates to the public every Friday during Lent from March 21 to April 11.
The cost for a two-piece catfish fillet plate with hush puppies and choice of two sides – gouda cheese grits, cole claw, green or baked beans – is $12 per plate. Cost for a three-piece plate is $15. Bottled water is $1, and a canned drink is $2.
Coordinator Dana Vickery said the church is serving to the public every Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Vickery said those who are interested in purchasing a plate are encouraged to pre-order. Contact Vickery by text at 251-253-5484 to pre-order a plate.
Diners can dine in or carry out, and plates may be picked up at Boland Hall.
“We’re doing this for people to get to know their Catholic Christian brothers and sisters,” Vickery said. “This is a good chance for people to come down, and have a good meal. It’s kind of a community outreach for us.”
Vickery said the church will not be selling fish fry plates on Good Friday.
