EA splits with Snook in region action Tuesday night

Escambia Academy split wth Snook Christian Academy tonight in region baseball action at home in Canoe.

The Cougars had a strong fourth inning in the first game, scoring five runs to win 10-8 in the first game of the doubleheader, but fell 16-3 in 3.0 innings in the night cap.

With the split, the Cougars fall to 5-6 overall on the season.

Snook Christian 16, Escambia Academy 3

Snook scored three runs in the first inning, one run in the second and 12 runs in the third.

EA scored three runs in third inning during the defeat.

Isaac Radcliff and Jackson Bartley had one hit each to lead EA.

Snook’s Ethan Bettner and Jayden Ables had two hits each. Bettner, Ables and Thad Scott had three RBIs each.

Aaron Ashley allowed one earned run on three hits in 3.0 innings and struck out three for Snook.

Escambia Academy 10, Snook Christian 8

The Cougars scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, taking a lead they’d never give up the rest of the way.

EA scored five runs on four hits to take a 8-7 lead in the fourth.

Bartley drove in two runs in the fourth.

Then, EA took the lead in the sixth after AJ Bennett and Grant Sasser scored for the Cougars. Bennett reached on a single, and Sasser hit into a fielder’s choice.

Radcliff earned the win on the mound for EA, pitching 6.0 innings, striking out seven and allowing three earned runs on six hits.

Ashley and Colton Givens led Snook with two hits each.
